The experience at La Galigo Liveaboard was memorable and beyond words can describe! Diving was already expected to be stunning, as Raja Ampat carries so much beauty and rich marine life itself… But the highlight of this trip was definitely about PEOPLE ❤️ A greeeeat crew that meticulously took care of each detail during our stay and also during the dives! They are all so professional, kind and genuinely spread good energy for the guests in a magical way that everyone in the group could really feel it. The service was impeccable since early morning until night, in every single way - and the FOOD was also a highlight! We were very spoiled by Raja and Eman’s kindness the whole time, always serving delicious meals and snacks beautifully prepared by the talented chef. The director Surya is also very committed, attentive and friendly with all guests and made sure our staying was fine and everything was settled before and after each dive. All the details were perfectly coordinated on board with so much care! We literally felt home on the boat and this incredible experience will forever be remembered with great joy!!! It was amazing, simply unforgettable ❤️❤️❤️

This was our first liveaboard trip, and La Galigo exceeded all our expectations! It was incredibly well organized. The boat itself was wonderful, with comfortable, clean, well-organized, and tasteful accommodations, as was the crew, who were super professional, experienced, and attentive. The dive sites were also fantastic, and we can’t forget the extra activities offered, such as the Blue River tour and the Piaynemo excursion, which added even more fun to an already amazing experience. The crew’s teamwork is incredible. Everyone is committed and fully engaged in their role. They act calmly, and you can tell they dedicate themselves to what they do with love. They are so united and kind that they made us feel like part of the family. It’s difficult to mention everyone here in the review, but we realized that each person — whether from the deck, engineering, diving, or the kitchen — is very important and special, making the crew function so efficiently. We were enchanted and will never forget the seven days we had the privilege of being part of this family in such beautiful places in Central Raja Ampat. Forever in our hearts. My liveaboard trip on La Galigo was way beyond my expectations. I definitely recommend it! I booked directly with them and the process was easy and quick thanks to Seli, who was always very responsive. The wooden boat creates such a warm and cozy atmosphere. There are plenty of comfortable lounging areas both inside and outside. The cabins are spacious, and the mattresses and bedding are extremely comfortable — I slept like a baby, gently rocked by the waves. The dive sites were absolutely spectacular, with large schools of fish, amazing critters during the night dives, and at times some strong currents. It truly felt like watching the best underwater documentary — live! The dive gear was high quality, and the two dinghies made transfers to the dive sites easy and convenient. The crew (Alun, Sunny, Daniel, and Harja) were so funny, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Coming back from a dive was always a joy thanks to them! The diving deck is spacious and very well organized. After each dive, the crew would welcome us by ringing the bell — such a fun and joyful tradition! We were always greeted with dry towels, drinks, and snacks. The entire team helped us gear up and rinse the equipment after every dive. Truly five-star service! The dive guides — Ambat, Surya, Laudi, and Fendy — were all very experienced, attentive, and always helpful. They have bionic eyes for spotting the most amazing underwater species! A big shout-out to Dede and Ismael, who cooked an incredible variety of fresh, flavorful dishes every day. They were also mindful of my dietary restrictions, which I really appreciated. Honestly, the only risk onboard is overeating because everything is so delicious! Eman and Raja made my stay so fun and silly. They’re the best Bahasa teachers and always spread happiness around the dining area (and make sure you eat just a little more!). Thanks for your smiles! And to the rest of the team — Frisko, Yuda, Guyono, Welli, Naftali, Mukshin — even if we didn’t talk as much, they were always there, ready to help, and so kind. I truly had an amazing time on La Galigo — thank you so much for the outstanding service and unforgettable memories!

We had the most incredible time travelling and diving through Central Raja Ampat with La Galigo! This trip will be a core memory I will cherish for the rest of my life. From first interaction to the last, the level of service and attention to detail is above and beyond. The boat itself is so comfortable and well appointed. Every single member of the crew has worked hard to cultivate a vibe and level of energy that I’ve not experienced anywhere else. They truly pamper you. The diving?! Oh my god, stunning. The dive masters are so knowledgeable and make sure that every dive is memorable. All of the equipment is taken very good care of and you trust the entire team to make sure each dive is safe and fun. The food was completely unexpected in the absolute best way. Every meal was delicious and after every dive there were always amazing treats and beverages served. You won’t go hungry! Surya is an exceptional Director. He made sure you always had everything you needed, every day was so well organized, enjoyable, and memorable. I could give every person on the crew a shout out because they are all truly amazing people and have created something so special.

I boarded La Galico in August, and it was an amazing experience. The boat crew and dive staff were always kind and friendly, and the cabin deck, rooms, and dining area were immaculately cleaned every day. The boat moved slowly and quietly, and it was as comfortable as a cradle. While this may not be enough for adventurous divers, the crew always prioritizes the safety of their guests and never pushes them too hard. The crew checked the currents at each dive. Groups of up to four people were divided by skill level, and the guides and crew always looked out for them. A wide variety of dive spots were planned for each dive, so we never got bored. There were also days when we went to macro-points, so photographers would recommend private guides. The meals were varied and a highlight of this trip. They also catered to vegetarians and vegans. A different healthy drink was provided after each dive, which was also a pleasure. Overall, it was an enjoyable eight days.

Excellent boat and crew. The facilities are great and the diving sensational. Dive guides very professional and experienced so you always feel safe. Good variety of sites. Special note the rental equipment is all in good condition and quite new. If I had realised how good it is I would have hired to save bringing my own. Food excellent too. Honestly cannot fault this trip!

Boat is practical, comfortable if a little “tired”. Dive operations smooth and no issues, good guides friendly crew. Food is excellent. The itinerary is good, with the addition of a swim with dolphins and 3 trips ashore. Small problem with the drinking water which was rectified. Overall a wonderful experience.

I had an amazing stay in Galigo during my family diving trip. The dive sites were absolutely incredible — full of life and truly unforgettable. The instructors were attentive and professional, always making sure we felt safe and confident underwater. And the crew... just wonderful! Incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. I felt very well taken care of throughout the entire trip. The food was incredible and very diverse. I really appreciated having delicious Indonesian dishes included — such a nice touch! And the selection of juices, teas and ginger herbal infusions on board was lovely — perfect for relaxing after a dive.

We had the most amazing 8 days diving Raja Ampat. The crew are amazing! The dive guides are very knowledgeable & keep you safe & find many critters. The food is amazing & so so much of it! And everything ran seamlessly & the boat is well equipped, clean and comfortable. We celebrated our Honeymoon in the suite which was luxury for a dive trip & the crew made it extra special with decorations, a cake and even singing dedicated songs to us. My husband and I went on the Jurassic Komodo trip with La Galigo and it was truly an incredible, unforgettable experience! The beauty of the area and dive sights is amazing. The ship is comfortable, beautiful, and impeccably maintained. The layout and amenities are so thoughtful and make being onboard so pleasant. But what really sets La Galigo apart is the amazing crew. Every single crew member goes above and beyond to ensure you’re enjoying your time- from the dive masters keeping you safe and spotting things on dives, to the incredible meals on board served with a smile, to the fun shore excursions, to talking about dives and playing games with the cruise director. I had some congestion on our trip and was concerned about equalizing and the crew made sure I had someone with me one on one during my first few dives so that I could be sure my ears were ok- it was little touches like that to be sure that everyone was safe and comfortable that shows how much this team does to provide the highest level of service. We can’t wait to come back to Indonesia so we can experience another trip with La Galigo!

Our schedule was planned expertly and we got to see so many amazing things underwater with really pro dive guides. The food was fantastic, with lots of variety and availability, and the cabins were comfortable, with AC and en-suite bathrooms. Unforgettable Raja Ampat Adventure with La Galigo My son and I are avid scuba divers, and Raja Ampat had been on our bucket list for years. After researching liveaboards back in April 2024, we chose La Galigo for its glowing reviews, ideal schedule, and inclusion of Melissa’s Garden—a must-see for us. From start to finish, this trip exceeded all expectations. The booking process was seamless, and communication with La Galigo was excellent. Upon arrival in Sorong, we were greeted and transferred to the boat, where Jacob, the cruise director, ensured we were settled in comfortably. The group of 12 other divers, each from different corners of the world, added to the experience, as we all shared one goal—diving some of the most pristine reefs on the planet. La Galigo delivered dive after dive of breathtaking marine life and vibrant coral, each site seemingly better than the last. It’s clear why Raja Ampat is called the last paradise. Most days offered four dives—three daytime and one night—along with excursions to stunning viewpoints and serene beaches. The crew was exceptional, handling everything from setting up our gear to cleaning it after each dive. All we had to do was show up, dive, and enjoy. Returning from a dive, we were always greeted with a warm drink and a delicious snack—a welcome touch after an incredible underwater adventure. Speaking of food, La Galigo’s culinary offerings were top-notch. The mix of Western and Indonesian cuisine was consistently restaurant-quality, with generous servings that ensured we never went hungry. We had the best time on our Raja Ampat South Trip. The boat and the rooms are absolutely beautiful and the diving of course also amazing! The food was great too, we could also get vegan options. What made the trip even more special is the whole crew. All of them always had a smile on their face and did everything they could to make our trip perfect. Our dive guide Risky found lots of small (and big) things in the reef and we had some beautiful manta ray encounters. Thanks to Jacob and the whole team on board!

Had a great trip thur Raja Ampat in August 2025. The crew is outstanding, from dive guides, cruise director to kitchen staff to the mechanics and everyone else onboard! Everyone is very friendly wich creates a great atmosphere onboard. Youll feel right at home. The dive sites visited were amazing. Necessary adjustements were made to the itinerary if needed and the dive guides did a good job at making sure everyone had a great time no matter the skill level. If youre a diver and want to expierience Raja ampat to the fullest, this is the best way to do so. Highly reccomended.

Have been in Raja Ampat on La Galigo with Cruise Director Surya for a 12 day Trip. I can absolutely recommend the boat for anyone looking for a well run dive boat. Surya and his crew took really good care of us, the food was really tasty and plentiful, the rooms were spacious enough with shelves and cupboards, the shower&bathroom were very clean. Everything was organized really good, and you can notice that they are really customer oriented. My luggage was delivered late by the airline I flew with, and the Team did everything to make sure I would get my bags as fast as possible If I could wish for something to be changed, I'd have more pasta served instead of rice everyday. Other than that, there was nothing I'd change! Thanks again to the team, it was a wonderful trip.

Spent a week on La Galigo cruising Raja Ampat. What an exceptional experience! The staff were incredible, the dive guides were experienced, very knowledgeable and tried to fulfill every guests dream encounter wish list. Cant wait to come back on this beautiful boat!

Best liveaboard I have been on (out of five) on all fronts (diving, comfort, food, crew). Super comfortable boat with an incredibly attentive crew that makes the diving experience totally seamless and accessible (they even lift your tanks and wash the equipment for you!). Because of the outstanding crew, to our surprise the diving entry & exit on small boats was even more comfortable than our past experiences on liveaboards with a dedicated diving dhoni. Our cabin was very spacious and comfortable, with good AC and a great balcony. Overall it’s a terrific boat for both private space or if you want to hang in common areas. The chef makes delicious Indonesian cuisine and we loved every single meal. Also noteworthy the fantastic rotation of spiced teas and mocktails to rehydrate & warm up post dive. The diving in the Ultimate Komodo tour was outstanding both for variety of style (wall, drift, muck, night), biodiversity (lots of mantas, turtles, huge amounts of all sorts of fish, cephalopods, octopi, nudibranchs) and sites topography. Very experienced and thoughtful dive guides - Fendy was our guide and took great care of showing us around and of our safety when on occasion the current made the dive a bit more technical. The little excursions for hikes and seeing the Komodo dragons were very fun, mixed up the pace nicely, and made for amazing views and photos. The cruise director Jacob is truly a terrific host and took great care of everyone. He is very attentive and helped the group gel. I can’t recommend La Galigo enough! We hope to be able to come back to do the Raja Ampat tour with them.

As a solo female diver, I had a wonderful and comfortable time aboard the La Galigo. The entire staff was extremely welcoming and hospitable. My room/ bathroom was cleaned every day; my bed comfortable. The shared spaces were also well maintained ans spacious. I also enjoyed all the home cooked meals and desserts. Quality food was a requirement for the live-aboard I choose. The dive crew and cruise director, Fareez, also took great care that my dive preferences and needs were met during our 24 dives. I’d definitely book the La Galindo next time I’m in Raja Ampat.

Great quality on board, even greater dives underwater, friendly people (the crew and other guests), approachable and experienced dive guides, good food, some nice small hikes and trips to shore ! I had a wonderful week on this liveaboard. Communication was great before the trip. Questions were answered and I felt welcomed from the word go. Pick up from my hotel was fine, together with drop off at the airport at the end of the trip. The crew were very friendly and efficient. The food was as good as any gastro restaurant. Plentiful and reflected Indonesian cuisine. The dive sights were great and were slightly changed/swapped according to currents/ conditions which maximised our experience. The dive guides were amazing and were able to point out the smallest of marine creatures. Their knowledge of the reefs and dive sites were phenomenal and dive briefs were spot on. A welcome towel and drink was ready after each dive. We also had a welcome return from each dive with the crew cheering and ringing the bell, most warming and never failed to put you in a good mood! The cabin was lovely and the bed was comfortable. Jacob was very efficient and helpful and dealt with any issues. A briefing/ summary was made each evening, highlighting what we had done and what to expect the next day. He was very friendly and we had many a chat about diving, topics in general and regularly watched the dawn. The itinerary also included excursions which were very pleasant, a hike up a hill with a wonderful view. A small island litter pick and of course visiting the komodo dragons! The last evening we were anchored and watched thousands of fruit bats leave their roost, an amazing sight. We had our last supper on the roof of the boat and were entertained by the crew. Overall, with my fellow divers, who were great company, the dive sites, and the La Galigo crew it was truly a very memorable and enjoyable experience that I could thoroughly recommend. It was our first liveaboard experience and La Galigo has made it so unforgettable with amazing dive sites choices, professional dive guides with detailed briefings, super friendly crews and also good food (the donuts are just surreal)! My favorite dive sites are batu balong where you could see various schools of fish being surprised by sharks and also the crystal rock where you get to experience the exciting and classic Komodo current diving! Being an AOW with 38 dives, I was concerned that a liveaboard in Komodo was too advanced for me due to its currents. But the Galigo team assured me everything would be fine, that they would take good care of me and they took. I had a amazing time in Galigo. End up loving diving with currents! The instructors pay a lot of attention to us a under water, when seeing the group needed more attention, they send more instructors. The food was amazing, might have gain 2-3 kilos. And the crew is super professional and kind. Loved my experience in Galigo

August 2023 La Galigo is a very professionally run operation. All the crew were incredibly friendly and attended to our every need. Honestly, you could not ask for more. The ship is super clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Plenty of areas to get away from things and enjoy the amazing surroundings whether at anchor or underway. The Jurassic Komodo Cruise programme was really well thought out and provided great exposure for both divers and snorkelers over the 6D/5N cruise. Our cruise director Fareez was a super nice guy an very complete when it came to explaining the programme. Briefings on every dive were on time and very detailed. It has to be said that our meal’s were exceptional - Raja and the boys in the galley did an incredible job - nobody went wanting. As for the undersea life, every dive had something different and all were absolutely special - some amazing macro stuff. We went to experience manta rays for the first time and we were not disappointed - absolutely incredible! Indonesia has so much to offer and as snorkelers and free divers the ‘beat’ was just perfect for us with 3 dives per day. Our time on La Galigo will remain special and very memorable. I am so glad I chose La Galigo Jurassic tour in Komodo national park for my first liveaboard experience. Starting from cruise director Jacob to owner Nick, dive guide Ambat and all the helping hands such as Raja and Yudha.... The stay on-board has been truly made special by the people of La Galigo. The cabins are kept very clean and the boat overall is cozy and comfortable. The food is simply awesome and enough variety is served so that you are never bored of it. Most importantly though, while Komodo national park offers some amazing dive sites, the dives were made more incredible due to the detailed briefings and all the guidance by the dive crew.

Absolutely superb experience - The crew, their leadership, the cuisine, the scuba, the itinerary and accommodations. I'm a changed man after completing this 12 day/11night Liveaboard. A kaleidoscope of wonder, color and life undersea. The crew was the nicest group I've run into in a long long while.

Pre-trip: I submitted an enquiry for the Jurassic Komodo trip on the website and within 2 hours, I got in touch with Whitney from the sales team. She was extremely responsive and answered all of my queries promptly, making the booking process very hassle free. An email providing additional information was received about 1 week out and about 2 days before departure, we were also contacted by the cruise director, Jacob, who informed us about the pick up timing and provided final confirmation. We were constantly being updated so we never felt in the lurch at any point leading up to the trip! Boat: The boat appears to have been refurbished recently as most of the furniture and infrastructure are in fantastic condition. The cabins were excellent, with multiple storage areas and a really comfortable bed. Hot showers (with good water pressure) is available within the ensuite bathrooms as well. Even though the boat has a guest capacity of about 14, there is plenty of space to lounge around. There is the indoor air conditioned restaurant/ salon, an upper deck with bean bags + a sofa and a roof top with sun chairs. It never felt crowded as there was always somewhere to relax in between/ after dives. They also serve as places to mingle around and interact with other guests should you desire to. The diving deck where we go to get ready for dives is spacious as well. Diving: As it was my first time in Komodo national park, I must say that the experience really lived up to the hype. The water is always blue and visibility is as far as light can reach. The corals span endlessly, creating this immaculate landscape that makes diving feel almost ethereal. The reefs are teeming with marine life and there is something to be seen in every corner. Of course, being in Komodo, there are currents present in almost every other dive but rest assured that you are in very good hands. The briefings are all done succinctly, where the dive guides will inform us of currents, things to look out for and what to take note of. I dove with Ambat mostly and his ability to spot animals from big sharks to even the tiny Pygmy seahorses is almost unparalleled. Beyond that, he always made us feel safe during dives and doing his best to make us avoid fighting strong currents. Of course there are times that it will be inevitable and that’s when you can really see the professionalism and years of experience of all the dive guides on La Galigo. While I do recommend getting a bit more experience before joining a Komodo trip, I think that divers of all skill levels can still enjoy and appreciate the diving here. Besides the well known sites like ‘Batu Bolong’ and ‘The Cauldron’, some of my personal favourites are ‘Tatawa Besar’ and ‘Pulau Kambing’, these are sites you definitely don’t want to miss! Service: The service onboard is incredible and I have nothing but words of praises for all the staff. From the housekeepers, to the deckhands and even the people behind the scenes (the cooks and ship engineers), all of them work tirelessly around the clock to make the trip is seamless as possible. One thing I really like is that all of them have T-shirts with their names printed on them, making everyone a lot more personable. Jacob also made special arrangements so that I could get the most out of every dive, for which I am extremely grateful for. The food onboard is also tasty with a great variety of dishes to choose from. There is a good mix of western and Indonesian delicacies so you never get bored of eating the food. I could go on and on about all the little things that I liked but I think it’s best that you come and experience it for yourself firsthand. My only complain is that I had too much fun! I hope to be back sometime in the future possibly for their Raja Ampat expeditions. If you’re still on the fence about which LOB to do your next dive trip with, look no further than La Galigo. I can assure you that you’ll be signing up for a trip of a lifetime and one that you’ll never ever forget!

Diving in Raja Ampat was everything I hoped for and truly unforgettable trip, but what made this trip exceptional, though, was traveling with La Galigo — the entire crew made me feel completely at home from day one. Outstanding, above expectations, perfect dive boat! Our group of 14 divers chartered La Galigo for 2 weeks in April 2023 in Raja Ampat. Initially booked for April 2020, we were thrilled that despite the pandemic delays our trip went off without a hitch when travel reopened. Our group unanimously felt this was the best trip of our lives (despite all traveling extensively). Above expectations, the boat is perfectly set up for a dive trip; cabins and public space is awesome and the dive deck is perfect. Crew are absolutely amazing and the food, the diving, and the service are above expectations. We have never been looked after so well. Fereez, made everything run perfectly and was super fun and a great dive resource. All the dive guides are amazing. The diving in Raja Ampat is 'off the charts'. Can't recommend this trip enough and we are planning to rebook soon

Our amazing cruise through Raja Ampat aboard La Galigo was the highlight of a year in SEA. This beautiful Phinisi sailing yacht has been outfitted as an efficient and super-comfortable diving platform, plying the pristine waters of Indonesia. Every person in the crew went out of their way to make our trip perfect: from the first early-morning dive briefing to the last morsel of dinner. And...the food was amazing! Many options for most any dietary preference, and plenty of it. Several land excursions gave us the opportunity to stretch our legs and view the gorgeous landscape from a totally different perspective. (it would have been nice to know we could float all the way down the Blue River instead of hiking back). And of course - the diving! Tremendous varieties of colorful & healthy corals and billions of tropical fish everywhere. Relaxing dives over beautiful reefs to challenging currents (on a couple) to amazing night dives where our dive master used his x-ray vision to spot creatures we mortals would never have seen. Many thanks to cruise director Fareez, dive guides Ambat, Aghi & Fendy, Jeffrey and all the rest of the crew - on board and onshore. We were also blessed to have a great bunch of fellow divers, and look forward to diving and hanging with everyone again in the future. Cheers!

This was a great 12 day dive itinerary across the most beautiful destination in Raja Ampat! Being aboard La Galigo was one of the most memorable trips of my 6 month travel adventure. The dive sites and land excursions were just incredible and the boat was very spacious and comfortable for living in. Above all, the welcoming nature and fun loving energy of Tom, the dive guides, the crew and the rest of the group made this a truly special week for me! The trip was incredible. Firstly, I must commend the staff for being absolutely exceptional. They attended to guests with genuine care and without any affectation. There was no need for me to bring snacks, as I ended up giving them away to the staff; La Galigo provided a hearty breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks in between. Contrary to my expectations, I didn’t lose any weight. The views were breathtaking: stunning sunsets, sunrises, and everything in between. The diving was nothing short of phenomenal. It was heartwarming to witness the excitement of newly acquainted guests as they shared pictures of their underwater discoveries after each dive. I particularly enjoyed the dive briefings and the hand-drawn sketches/illustrations. The dive guides were incredibly helpful and made sure to search for a variety of marine life, including nudibranchs, sharks, manta rays, turtles, seahorses, and more, to ensure we saw them all. The day and night diving experiences were both relaxing and otherworldly. The exceptional team was quick to assist whenever I encountered any issues. They helped me adjust my gear to optimize my underwater experience. When I lost my watch (a dive computer), I thought I had left it on the boat. However, the team examined the CCTV footage and discovered that it had fallen off as I exited the water at the dive site. Without a moment’s hesitation, they suggested we return to that spot to search for it. After 13 hours (our first dive the next day), a small group, including myself, embarked on a scavenger hunt while the other guests carried on with their regular morning dive. It’s hard to believe, but Fendy, one of the Dive Masters, found my watch; its bezel was caught in the soft coral and sand, with the wrist strap just visible above the surface. Once again, it was the staff who truly made this trip outstanding. Witnessing everyone’s reactions, I can confidently speak for all the guests. It was literally the Best Trip ever. I was quite new to diving and a bit scared that everyone else was super experienced but my Dive Guide was so chilled and amazing and I felt so safe. I had so much fun and the crew is bloody amazing. The cabin was super nice and the bed very comfy. The food was exceptionally good and I gained 2 kilos 😂. I will come back for two more trips next year and can’t wait.

Booked a trip with La Galigo with 4 friends and am so sad to have to leave. Want to bring Raja and Eman home with me. I had a private guide, Fende, who was always so helpful pointing out the tiny critters and the large ones too! Took a video of an Oceanic Manta Ray at a cleaning station and felt so sacred to be witnessing this huge, beautiful animal allowing me to witness this. The reefs are spectacular, the food is excellent, and, above all, our group was the Best! We have new life long friends from France, Portugal, San Francisco, and Arizona. And the crew is friendly and helpful with everything, stressing safety and having fun. Our singing and dance party was great and hope to have another one tonight before we leave in the morning. I'm so sad to have to leave.....

Had a great time on this liveaboard! Cruise director Jacob and his crew are very knowledgeable and our needs were met before we even asked. They are part of Green Fins, which means the boat and crew consciously adopt environmentally friendly practices to protect coral reefs.

I just did the 8-day/7-night trip through Komodo, and it was the best diving experience I have had. Beyond the diverse and challenging dive sites that the crew chose, La Galigo has excellent dive guides and a cruise director that create a really fun and enjoyable experience. The boat is amazing from the comfortable cabins to food to chill-out areas, and it is really great to look at as well. The crew are friendly and super helpful, and the booking experience from beginning to end was easy. I would 100 percent recommend La Galigo for any liveaboard trip anywhere, because no matter where you go the experience is going to be incredible.

Travelled with the LGL team end Feb over a duration of 8D7N for Raja Ampat Central/North scuba diving. Boy, was it a wonderful experience! From the get-go, pick-ups from hotel, the intermediate transports, liveaboard briefing (meals, timing, safety), ship's punctuality to various dive sites scattered across the region - were all very well catered for. Not to mention the on-board crew's hospitality & warmth, you could always hear some laughter around, and Raja's (yes, that one of the crew's name, and no his last name is not Ampat) service during dining & teabreak hours are the best! There may be some minor hiccups here and there during your stay, but be sure to speak with Fareez (or whomever the crew or cruise director on-board) and they are very attentive to your needs. Liked the setup at the back of the boat, with a lowered platform, making it really easy for you to get on & off the little boat transfers to dive sites; as well as the efficiency of the crew in setting up your dive gears, and assisting you in offloading your equipment post a dive. Look out for their (occasional) banana fritters snacks after your dive, we kept asking for more!

Excellent crew who takes care of everything instantly and pay close attention to our needs. The dive master, Aghi was a fun guide. The dive itinerary was very well planned. Had a great time onboard.

My first time on a liveaboard and I couldn't have chosen a better company. The infrastructure was great (nice and clean cabins, great communal areas); and Tom and his crew were also amazing - super helpful, friendly, cheerful and knowledgeable. Thanks to them we had great dives and I was able to just relax and enjoy (or relax as much as possible when you are trying to do and see as much as is available!). Totally recommend.

What a spectacular week! Friendly staff, beautiful coral and fish. You can do 3-4 dives a day along with some short hikes and beach swims to round out your day. Great variety of traditional food with lots of fruits and vegetables.

My wife and I went on the Raja Ampat liveaboard in November 2023. Cannot say enough good things about the crew, they cater to every need and make it an effortless dive trip. The boat is appropriately sized for 14-16 guests and you always have enough space. Food is outstanding, and they cater to differing dietary needs. And most importantly, the diving is amazing! Guides are solid. Highly recommend it to anyone considering a liveaboard in Raja Ampat or Komodo!

What a great week!! We booked last minute and La Galigo accommodated everything! We have had a fantastic week of diving with Laudy our guide - mantas (even though it’s not the season), lots of sharks, turtles, Pygmy seahorse, Nudis, schooling barracudas and lots lots more!!! The whole crew are fantastic and extremely welcoming. Our cruise director Surya was fantastic and made the trip extremely fun! Special mentions to Raja & Eman for looking after us inside and the chefs for the delicious food! We were the only divers on all the dive sites and the trips ashore to villages, viewpoints and the blue river made it even more special. Couldn’t reccomend enough!! I went on the Jurassic Komodo trip with La Galigo in Aug 2023. This was my 4th liveaboard and I'd say it's the best one I've been on! Shout out to the cruise director Fareez - the level of details he gets into and the thoughts behind all the planning he does make me feel safe and well taken care of right from my very first text message with him ahead of pick-up. The boat is clearly well maintained - everything was squeaky clean and tidy throughout my entire trip. The food was fantastic!! What talented chefs. The crew is without a doubt the most professional and welcoming bunch of people I've ever dived with. Everything about the dives was planned and explained in advanced in well-drawn details. My DM Ambat was attentive to my needs throughout the trip and was patient and thoughtful with his solutions. And more importantly he was fun and so full of curiosity - made me laugh in and out of the water :). I was also happy with the itinerary - we were able to do very fun night dives every night of the trip, and the mix of diving and a couple trips on the islands felt just right. I'd go back to Indonesia for Raja Ampat with them in a heartbeat.

Everything is so magnificent that I can't thank enough. Jacobs and his valuable team are perfect. Always smiling, attentive, thinking of every detail, each of them is a wonderful team. Super friendly and professional team. Ali kept the group in good spirits and looking forward to the next day, Fendy did a great job showing us around the dive sites and keeping us safe (+Alex & Pablo on the night dives). Every day Faldes and Raja gave us great service in the restaurant, big and small John, and Ardus kept watch on us from the speed boats and the rest of the crew navigated us safely around Raja Ampat. Great team and whoever hired this team did a great job :-). The boat needs a bit more love to be at the same level as the team, specially around insect/cockroach control, but I hope that's resolved after the dry dock. Definitely would recommend it! Recommending the trip 100%! We booked very late as our original trip had been cancelled by another operator. The reservation team was really supportive and accommodating, process was very simple. The trip itself was very good, comfortable boat, with smaller number of guests and really friendly atmosphere. Dives we're well organised, guides knowledgeable and attentive. Food on board was delicious and plenty, never went hungry! Crew was outstanding and deserve all compliments. And cannot be forgotten - free Internet:D We will be back for south Raja Ampat in future 🙂

La Galigo is a comfortable liveaboard; I joined the boat for a trip in Rajah Ampat - some of the best diving I've had - mantas, sharks, turtles, frequent sightings of woebegone sharks, many critters and many nudibranchs - night dives were particularly good. The crew are fantastic, helping you in and out of the water, washing your gear and getting you ready for the next dive. In fact, I don't think I've ever encountered such helpful staff - they even helped me out of my 5mm wet suit & the drinks and snacks after dives were great. My cabin was cleaned every day, food was excellent and there were several shore trips to beauty spots. I've stopped short of 5* coz I felt that there wasn't any really comfy lounging area on deck - there was a roomy padded bench under shade, and on the upper deck there were some bean bags and matresses but nothing really comfy .......but I'm probably just being picky. It's a great liveaboard, well priced and the diving is outstanding.

La Galigo is a traditional Indonesian boat with the vagrancies of a wooden boat, but it’s a unique experience. Dives had something for everyone- some muck diving, some large creatures, some high current action, and some easy, pretty reef. The food was excellent. The diving service was great. Would recommend to moderate to experienced divers with a sense of adventure!

This liveaboard journey with La Galigo was an absolute dream! The rental equipment was well maintained, the boat was spotless, and the meals, snacks, and drinks after each dive were always varied and delicious. We had an amazing (8 nights) liveaboard trip in Raja Ampat (Central and South) on La Galigo. The boat itself is really spacious. The shared areas have plenty of room for everyone to feel comfortable. The rooms (deluxe cabin in our case) was well equipped with AC and ensuite bathroom. The covered deck is definitely a comfortable place to relax in-between dives. La Galigo really stood out to us compared to other liveaboard boats we saw during the trip. The scuba diving in Raja Ampat offers the opportunity to see an incredible diversity of underwater marine life (corals, schools of fish, oceanic as well as reef manta rays). The 24 dives during the liveaboard provided an excellent opportunity to witness the beauty and variety of Raja Ampat dive sites. We can't express how impressed we were by the quality of the service onboard. From the crew taking care of everything after the diving to the FnB service, housekeeping the liveaboard really feels like a floating 5* hotel. The crew members all go a long way to make everyone feel comfortable on board. The whole experience is perfectly organized from the pickup to the drop off. I would definitely recommend this incredible experience on La Galigo!

La Galigo was my very first liveaboard and I am truly glad I chose them. All the crews on board were beyond amazing. Jacob, the cruise director, was very thorough and detailed in making sure every aspect of our trip went smoothly; the crews were attentive and friendly. All I had to do was dive, dive and dive! The food was amazing; I loved that they served refreshments after all our dives. The fresh fruits and desserts at the end of every meal became something I look forward to. The itinerary was full with activities and dives that kept me busy the whole time. I will never forget the moment that schooling of barracudas and manta came at arms length. The ship itself is a beauty as one can see on their website. Overall I highly recommend La Galigo liveaboard if you plan to dive around Raja Ampat area!

I had such a great time aboard La Galigo! The crew was amazing - always super helpful and ready to assist with anything. The diving was the best I’ve ever experienced, with stunning sites and incredible marine life. Overall, it was an unforgettable trip, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone!

My wife and I had a really great trip on La Galigo, 8D/7N Raja Ampat North in Jan 2025. The ship is very comfortable: spacious and clean cabins and bathrooms with daily housekeeping, good AC, plenty of hot water for showers, and a change of towels provided mid-way through the trip. (My wife approved, and she’s used to staying in the Ritz Carlton during work travel...) The diving set-up on the after deck is well-organised and practical with a large table for storing cameras/lights/masks/computers, and enough space for divers before/after diving. The crew is very attentive in helping to get all equipment ready and cleaned/stowed after use, and are always present and ready to help - whether with giving a steadying hand to help divers onto the boat, or zipping tight wetsuits closed! There is a little box for each diver for small equipment, and everyone has a designated storage space for towel and for other equipment. After every dive, there was a refreshing drink waiting on the foredeck, and the crew basically takes care of all equipment. There is even a battery charging set-up at the back for multiple batteries, so we didn’t need to use our own chargers for torch batteries at all. The dive guides were very good (thanks for showing us so many interesting things, Ambat!), and Jacob did a great job managing the trip as a whole - planning dive timings and sites so that for most of the trip it felt like we had Raja Ampat to ourselves whenever we were in the water. Dive briefings were detailed and accurate. The food on board was really good, plentiful, and varied (this matters to me, because having substandard food during a dive trip really mars the experience for me). Some older reviews had complained of water leaks during rain - we had some heavy downpours, but no serious leak problems, so any issues have clearly been fixed. Overall, we felt really looked after by every member of the cheerful crew, and enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Would definitely go diving on La Galigo again!

We had a phenomenal week with La Galigo in Komodo National Park. The entire tour was well organized from start to finish. The diving and sea life was spectacular! Very rich marine life, both pelagics and micro. Thrilling drifts and busy muck dives as well, full of creatures! Our guides were attentive and the groups are small, max 1:4. The sites were not too busy, in general. The dive briefings onboard this operation are next level artistry! The site topography maps are something you could hang on the wall - maybe a future merch idea! Rental gear was in good condition, and our personal gear was well cared for. The food onboard was delicious, plentiful and with lots of variety each day. There was one vegetarian onboard our trip and there were always lots of options for everyone. The boat itself was stunning. Beautiful interior, lots of space to spread out and lounge comfortably between dives, whether you want sun, shade or to be indoors. Our cabin was spacious, as was our bathroom. Hot showers with strong water pressure and reef safe shampoo/conditioner/body wash was provided! Land excursions were fabulous. We did a beautiful sunset hike, as well as a visit to see the Komodo dragons on Rinca. Rinca has good infrastructure, is clean and well maintained, and we had a very educational guided tour with many free roaming wild Komodo dragons who seemed peaceful, and well protected from tourists by the rangers. Last but definitely not least, the staff onboard our trip were absolutely fabulous. You couldn’t ask for better people. Everyone was happy to help in any way they could, they all seemed to be in a great mood every minute of the day, and truly seemed to enjoy our and each other’s company. Our cruise director, Jaka, was competent, confident and knowledgeable. He did an excellent job making sure everyone was informed all the way through, and that everyone’s whims, wants and needs were taken care of immediately! Highly recommend this company if you are going to Indonesia to dive!

We just come from a 6 day trip with La Galigo. We had an amazing time. The crew was extremely friendly and helpful. They prepared all your equipment before every dive, and when you came out of the water, back to the boat a drink and snacks were waiting for you and they took care again of all your things. They were very attentive and recognized your needs before you asked. Our cruise director Jacob made has been great too. Very helpful and a large knowledge about diving and Indonesia in general. We have been diving with Fendi. A very nice person, with amazing eyes under water. He shoed us so much! The boat itself is also very good. We like the fact there are maximum 14 divers on board. All cabins are good. We stayed in the suite and it was worth every cent. The only thing is; it would have been nice having an additional towel in the room. The excursion on land were nice too, We can only recommend La Galigo

We had an amazing time diving in the Komodo Islands. The crew of La Galigo is extremely kind and helpful. Everything is taken care of, from the excellent meals to room cleaning, having all your diving gear always setup and ready to go, and the nice warm ginger tea after your dive (there's actually a different drink after each dive!). There are plenty of smiles and cheers to make you feel home as well. An amazing experience that I would recommend without hesitations.

We joined LaGaligo for Raja Ampat North as our first liveaboard experience and were not sure what to expect. We absolutely loved it and did not want to go home! The crew was exceptional, from the stewards to the cruise director everyone was very friendly, welcoming and very attentive. The boat is very charming and comfortable and the dive deck works very well with fresh water showers and dry towels ready for you after each dive. We stayed in the suite and it was great! Very spacious and private. Last but not least our dive guide made a big effort in showing us all kinds of marine life, adapted dives to the experience level of our group and gave detailed briefings. Currents were fairly strong when we were there but there was the possibility to snorkel at each site if you felt unease with diving. Finally, the food was very good and varied. Thanks everyone for the great holiday and we hope to come back 😀

My first trip with LaGaligo to Komodo Island was sooo good that I decided I would fly another 24 Hrs trip to try out their South Raja Ampat itinerary. Each trip was sublime! Crew could not be more attentive or professional. Food was tasty, varied, and plentiful. Accommodations on this beautiful teak Phinisi were uncramped. Water was plentiful and hot! There was always at least one person on overnight watch to keep us all safe. I am a value shopper and when comparing this vessel and crew to any other in Indonesia, you will NOT find better VALUE for your money. Service and diving was so good that huge tips were rewarded!

I cannot recommend La Galigo enough. Just completed a 7 night trip to Raja Ampat North and it was spectacular. Jacob is a great cruise director and has a great team around him; from knowledgable dive guides to an awesome chef, nothing is too much trouble. Be prepared to be very well fed - it’s incredible what the chef can prepare whilst onboard. There are drinks waiting for you after every dive (fresh juices, amazing tea etc), and a snack after the third dive! It’s a slick operation, and Jacob will flex the schedule depending on what is best for diving. The land excursions were great as well to see the beauty of Raja Ampat above water. We stayed in a master cabin, which was perfect, bed is comfortable, hot shower (shampoo and shower gel provided) A/C and the room is cleaned every day. The boat is a great size for 14 guests. We would definitely come back!

What a cruise! We spent a week in La Galigo’s suite, which is perfect: mattresses are great - in the morning you wake up refreshned and well-slept. The balcony is fantastic! Food is really good and the whole crew is so nice and helpful. Dive sites are amazing and everything is “safety first”. I couldn’t dream a better trip as we had! I highly recommed this liveaboard to everyone!

We spend 8 days (7 Nights) on La Galigo in Raja Ampat North in the lower deck cabin. It was our 3rd liveaboard and the lower deck cabin is super quiet at night with an aircon. The crew of the boat is awesome and very friendly! You can talk with everybody, and they prepared everything for us! From the chef to the local live master, everybody took care that the trip was most enjoyable for us! The dive sites in Raja Ampat North are really beautiful with few tourists. For diving, Raja Ampat is not the easiest, and you have to use a reef hook sometimes. Also, an SMB is required, but the crew will also show you if you have not used it before. Moreover, the boat is super comfortable, the food is mixed western and local food, and you can purchase Beer and Wine. We will definitely come back to Raja Ampat with La Galigo because of the crew!

La Galigo made me hooked onto live aboards! This was such a wonderful experience, the boat was beautiful the crew was wonderful! The dive guides took us through breathtaking reefs and it was an adventure of a life time!

Our trip to Komodo on La Galigo was phenomenal! The boat is beautiful, the cabins spacious and clean. Diving deck was well thought out and never felt crowded. The itinerary is perfect. The crew was amazing and took such good care of us. Food was out of this world! We have dietary restrictions and allergies (vegan, celiac) and they went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. Jacob was a superb cruise director, always happy to answer our (many) questions or just chat. He made sure we knew what was coming up each day and took my husband snorkeling when a medical issue prevented him from diving. Aghi was the best dive guide and is a macro wizard! Eman was so happy and friendly, it always made us smile! Absolutely loved the whole trip and can't wait to go on their Raja Ampat trip next!

We spent 9 wonderful days on the boat. Everything was just perfect, the boat, the dives and especially the crew. They made the whole journey special and way more enjoyable. They greeted us after every dive with a big smile and a fresh drink. It was very nice to meet them and live with them together on the boat. The boat was just perfect and the cabins were very comfortable, the whole design works perfect as a dive boat and is very handy. The dive sites were perfectly choosen, depending on the weather, the tides and other boats so that we had 24 wonderful dives, were we could enjoy the natur of raja ampat in small groups. We would choose la galigo again 🙂

I did the 8-day trip in Northern Raja Ampet and would highly recommend La Galigo. They were very welcoming and helpful with everything. The boat is realy nice and well kept, and the diving amazing. The cabins are spacious with lovely beds and spotless bathrooms. Hot and cold water in the shower. The food tastes delicious and is delicately prepared The crew will do everything to ensure you have a good experience. Raja Ampat with La Galigo is truly unique. Jacob and his crew realy cares about every guest onboard. They prepared for amazing dives. The reefs in Rja Ampet are beautiful, healthy and full of life. However there are also some riefs that unfortunately have been bleached, so the program was somewhat changed, but still lovely. La Galigo made my dream come true, and I would absolutely choose them again.

I had an exceptional experience aboard La Galigo. Everything about this liveaboard felt 5-star—from the service to the incredible diving in Raja Ampat. With 24 dives in total over 9 days, we explored some of the most stunning dive sites in Raja Ampat, encountering an amazing variety of marine life—including manta rays, sharks, vibrant coral reefs, and endless schools of fish. The crew took care of our dive gear from start to finish, making each dive smooth and effortless. The boat itself is beautiful (the most beautiful one compared to the others we saw cruising), spacious, well-maintained, and extremely comfortable. With only 10-15 guests on board, it was the perfect balance—enough people to socialize and meet interesting divers, while also having personal space. The level of service was above and beyond. The crew made our experience feel personalized, from handling our equipment to ensuring our comfort throughout the trip. The food was outstanding, and I was truly impressed that they accommodated my dietary restrictions so well—even preparing custom dishes for me! Having WiFi onboard was a great bonus, allowing us to stay connected when needed. If you’re looking for an unforgettable liveaboard experience in Raja Ampat, I can definitely recommend La Galigo.

La Galigo provided an absolutely perfect liveaboard experience! The boat itself was in impeccable shape and had all the amenities one could ask for. The diving itself was exceptional and gave us the opportunity to explore a variety of top Komodo sites. We were fed top notch meals multiple times a day and they were very accommodating to my vegan diet. And most importantly, the crew was outstanding in every way! Always smiling, very attentive and they made you feel right at home. I would say more but you must experience it for yourself to understand!

What a fantastic experience! The crew was professional, energetic and made the trip so enjoyable. They take care of everything so you can focus on diving. I've dived all over the world and each dive was easily better than any previous dive. The crew takes care of setting up your equipment and getting it on the speed boat to take you to each dive site. The food was excellent and plentiful. I loved my cabin which had great AC and a very comfortable bed and bedding. Everyone on my trip had a great time and I expect you will too!

My husband and I went on an 12 day/ 11 night liveaboard around Raja Ampat with La Galigo. We had a room on the upper level of the boat and had a very comfortable stay. Our bed was huge and the bathroom was pretty spacious. The crew were very attentive, and the cruise director was great at managing unexpected events like bad weather, making the best out of what we could do. We had to deviate from the original itinerary due to bad weather in the North, so things had to be rebooked on the fly but we still had a great time exploring various dive sites. We tried to avoid areas with extensive coral bleaching in the central areas, e.g. dampier strait. Misool had no bleaching. Raja Ampat is a magical place at the center of the coral triangle. Hopefully the parts that are damaged will recover when water temperatures cool. Our dive guide Fendy was also great at finding Pygmy seahorses and guiding us to avoid areas with strong current. Overall we had a wonderful experience on La Galigo!

Incredible food. Beautiful dives and creatures. A few minor gripes, the biggest of which being that our room had a chemical smell, but we were able to change rooms the following day. Super friendly and helpful crew.

We had such an incredible week aboard La Galigo that we wished we could do another - it was so hard to leave! Dive sites were phenomenal. Dive guides knew the area well. Equipment rented felt safe and secure. The staff help you with everything - load your gear on/off the small boats before/after a dive, clean everything and have it ready for the next one! (Of course you do your own safety checks to ensure everything is working properly before each dive, and if you wish to handle your own equipment 100% they understand.) The food was great and there was variety each day. Bedding was nice and comfortable. They even offered turn-down service each night! Fun surprise dinner the last night! Absolutely loved our experience and will definitely be back in the future!

Two trips review (updated) December 2025 trip review: my wife and I went back to Indonesia to do the Raja Ampat Liveaboard with La Galigo. We decided to do it again with them since we had a great experience the first time and as expected, did not disappoint. Much of the crew was the same. Dive sites were incredible, the crew was so attentive and friendly, and the food was amazing! Already thinking about doing a third trip with them for the whale shark safari. My wife and I did the Jurassic Komodo (5N/6D) with them and couldn’t be more happy with the trip. The boat is beautiful, the staff is so attentive, and the diving sites are unforgettable. Great trip from start to finish! Beautiful, well maintained, clean and comfortable boat takes you all around the different dive sites on Komodo for unbelievable diving. Pristine water filled with healthy reefs and an abundance of marine life. The crew on the boat was as accommodating as any 4 star resort I’ve ever been to. Extremely accommodating to any dietary and physical restrictions and the food is amazing! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a dive trip in Komodo

I had such a fantastic time on La Galigo! Everything from the itinerary to the daily schedule was so well planned. The boat was clean, tidy, and had all the amenities you could ask for. After just a few hours it felt like home! The dive guides were absolutely amazing - shoutout to Fendy! - and our cruise director Fareez made sure we were comfortable and happy at every moment. The diving in Raja Ampat was spectacular, and every single member of the staff on La Galigo went above and beyond for us every step of the way. Even our land excursions were unbelievable. This was an unforgettable week and I'd definitely come back with this crew! Amazing experience!

We had the Christmas/New Year liveaboard of 2023-24. Boat and the size of the group (14 people) were great. I enjoyed the diving rythm, there was a clear schedule, dive sites were introduced well and everything worked, and without the annoying rush to dive which some liveaboards have. Cruise director was fantastic, and the rest of the crew was great as well. Food was excellent throughout the cruise. On this trip, most days had 4 dives, so not much time for extra activities, or time/energy for having drinks during the evenings, just for people to know if you are used to something else on liveaboards. We did 2 nice hikes to specific islands on the 2-dive days, of which the first was truly amazing remote lagoon, in which we swam after the hike. 35 dives in 11 days, so ears were popping after a long break. The Raja Ampat is beautiful, but for diving, mainly smaller stuff to see (a lot), or then it was just bad luck we only had one dive with proper look on the Manta Ray's. Overall, beautiful please and nice boat and crew, easily recommended.

My wife and I went on the 12d/11n Ultimate Raja Ampat itinerary with La Galigo. It was our first time on a liveaboard and we had a great time. We stayed in a Master Cabin on the top deck and it was very comfortable. There was adequate space in the room, though we feel they could have gone with a bit of a smaller bed to free up space elsewhere in the room. There were storage shelves in the room for us to set up clothes and gear. There’s 2 plug ins and 2 USB outlets in the room, as well as many outlets in the common areas so we had no issues charging equipment. Ensuite bathroom was spacious and clean. We were given more than enough food, snacks, and drinks throughout the day. Meals were delicious and combined local dishes with international fare. Diving setup was great. The dive deck seemed small at first but it was efficiently run and worked out well. Crew very helpful in helping us manage gear before and after dives. Our group usually consisted of 3 of us with one dive guide. Guides were great, doing a current check before each dive and giving a thorough briefing before heading out. We felt safe despite current on some of our dives. Guides amazing at helping us find smaller stuff, though it can be challenging at sites with current. We rented BCDs and regulators and they were in great condition. We didn’t follow the itinerary because of bad weather and because unfortunately there was some coral bleaching event taking place as we were there. We still made it to many of the sites mentioned in the itinerary, and hit all the top sites we were looking forward to. We appreciated how hard the crew worked to ensure we had the best experience despite circumstances out of their control. My only complaint is that we didn’t see oceanic manta rays. Their marketing mentioned being able to see them ‘from the south to the north of Raja Ampat’. We were disappointed to learn that this is not the case. The oceanic manta rays can really only be seen in the south of Raja Ampat, and even then it’s not a common thing. We did however see reef manta rays at 3 of the sites. One of the sites was a cleaning station where we got to watch them swimming around for the entire dive - an absolutely amazing experience!

Diving with la galigo in Raja Ampat has been a real pleasure. The dive spots were amazing, the boat is in good shape, the crew has been nothing but friendly and helpful. Besides the diving you'll be offered a diverse and well presented selection of food and drinks and also get the chance to visit some picturesque spots on land. We are very happy that we chose la galigo for our once in a lifetime journey to Raja Ampat - it was worth the trip. Luckily we had good weather and could also enjoy the sun while relaxing and dreaming about the Mantas we saw.

I’ve just had an action packed week on La Galigo, superb snorkelling with a committed, professional team and crew who respect the reefs and it’s inhabitants. Jacob, the cruise director and my guide, is so knowledgeable and he worked tirelessly to make sure we all got the most out of the Raja Ampat North trip. The land excursions were interesting. The food was delicious and varied, with vegetarians well looked after. I slept well in the master twin cabin. La Galigo is a traditional phinisi style boat, with all the character and quirks that go along with this style of vessel. It’s not the speediest boat, nor the quietest, but the vibe is friendly and helpful which counts for a lot. It was comfortable, with decent showers, hot water and a good mattress and pillows. And most importantly for me, the variety of dive sites and snorkelling spin-off options was mind blowing. Highly recommended for R4!

Had a great week on La Galigo!!! Super nice rooms, amazing staff, great experience! As soon as you get back from your dives (usually 4/day) the crew awaits you, wrapping you in a towel and taking care of your equipment. The boat is super nice, you actually feel like a pirate! I did the north & central tour- Wayag was definitely my highlight! Food was nice as well, especially after spending 3 weeks at local home stays (even though they’re great too). Big thanks to Raja and my extra portions of ice cream!!! Would come back any time and hopefully will soon! Thank you guys!!

Spent a week in Raja Amput North and was very pleased with the flexibility of the operator for diving and land adventures. They tailored the days to conditions. I really appreciated the faster paced, regular activity with the option to relax. The boat is a more traditional Indonesian craft, but it gave the trip some unique authenticity. I would recommend a trip with La Galigo.

Boarded la galigo on dec 8 2024.five star service from the crew and diveguides. The cruise director Jacob planned The routes& divesites everyday to avoid bad weather & croweds. Even in the peak season never felt a divesite is over crowded until the last diving day. when we had to be on our way back to sorong, we ran into many other diving boats and local skiffs so the last few dives feels like some underwater parties going on but i think it's inevitable cuz everybody has to be on this route to get back to harbor. The only real downside is the guest rooms leak when it rains, which happens quite often at night. As far as i knowall guests' rooms have more or less water coming in, no exception. The crew gave a great effort to keep rooms dry e.g. making sure guests' personal belongings stored dry, putting towels under drippings, so it did not bother me too much. Overall, great diving holiday experience. Thank you la galigo.

We had an incredible time diving with La Galigo in Komodo. This boat is extremely well equipped for diving and generally relaxing and enjoying the sites of Komodo. We loved the new top deck with shade and sun chairs as well as bean bags. From the minute we came aboard La Galigo it was clear the all the crew took the safety, enjoyment and comfort of the guests as the number one priority. The diving went really well, there were two tenders to make sure we got to the sites comfortably and quickly. Ambat was our guide he was great, he took a lot of time to find interesting creatures for us to see. Also appreciated the small group sizes made it a lot easier. The food was really delicious, there was a lot of variety and healthy/vegetarian options as well dessert each night. Overall have to say a big Thankyou to the whole crew (there are 17 of them on board!) especially Ambat, Raja, Eman and Yudha as well as Jacob and Nick. Each one of the staff will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time.

5 Star Service! My husband and I just returned home from a 12 day Ultimate Raja Ampat and it was absolutely amazing! From the moment we were met at the hotel to our final goodbye the service was 5 star. La Galigos staff take pride in catering to everyone's needs and are attentive, detail oriented and anticipated your needs before you even asked. The food was wonderful with a variety choices of meats, veggies, salads, fruit and catered to vegetarian and gluten free diets. A range of food from typical Indonesian to more western options. Eggs your style every day. Little touches such as freshly baked bread in the morning and creative desserts in the evening. The chef, his assistant, Raja and Jeffery provided exceptional service. The boat is laid out very well with lots of areas to relax in between dives. Accommodation was very comfortable and cleaned and serviced daily. We had a master cabin on the upper level. Diving was spectacular and we saw so many fish small and large that are unique to the area (Nudis, pygmy seahorses and squid, ghost pipefish, orangutang crabs) and so many Mantas!! The dive deck is located on the back of the boat with easy access to the tenders which take you to the dive site. The diving operation like everything else on la Galigo is very organized and well run. Attention to detail with amazing drawings of each unique dive site for our pre dive briefs. The dive guides are experienced and somehow have the super power of x-ray vision and could find the smallest and weirdest creatures! Aghi was our dive guide and did an awesome job! We typically dove 4 dives a day with the first brief at 7am followed by breakfast a surface interval rinse and repeat. There were a few days we only did 2 dives as we were transiting to a different location. If you love to dive this is for you! Truly 5 star service! Nightly Fareez our cruise director gave us a brief about what the plan was the following day. Fareez did a wonderful job coordinating the operations and guest needs. There were several land excursions to hike to a viewpoint and take in spectacular views. A nice change to mix up the trip. Fareez also offered several documentaries to watch throughout the trip. We shared the trip with some awesome guests from the UK, US, Australia and Switzerland and have made some friends for life. We particularly liked the smaller number of divers, maximum of 14. Raja Ampat is a very special place with pristine and unique coral, healthy and unique fish population, wonderful landscapes and people. For us coming from Canada it did take us 3 days to get there and 3 days to get home and was so worth it! We have memories that will last a lifetime and hope to join La Galigo for a Komodo trip next year. Thank you to all the La Galigo staff who made our trip so special and memorable! If you are thinking of a trip to Raja Ampat you will not be disappointed in choosing La Galigo!

Absolutely amazing trip. The boat was great and easy to relax in between dives. The diving was amazing and everything was taken care of, all you had to do was be ready for the delicious snack or drink they had prepared. And the thing that surprised me the most was how amazing the food was, chef was top notch. The whole crew were accommodating and made the time on board enjoyable from start to finish. Would highly recommend.

I have recently returned from a week aboard "La Galigo" exploring the dive sites in Northern Raja Ampat. A fantastic experience - the diving was both stunning and memorable. Onboard - the diving "team" was so efficient, you didn't realise all the work going on. Just rocked up at the time and into the boat - all dive gear ready and waiting. same upon return. Very efficient and more than helpful. Cabins clean and serviced every day, shower great (not always on liveaboards), food was plentiful and varied - great work by the chefs. Onboard Cruise Director went above and beyond. Informative dive briefings and nightly reviews. Nothing too much trouble. All in all, a fantastic trip - middle price range with top tier service all round. Am contemplating joining again to Komodo next year. Would definitely recommend.

This was my third liveaboard and it was a top-notch experience. The diving was amazing, with schools of fish on almost every dive, sharks (including wobbegongs and walking sharks), mantas, many nudibranchs, and beautiful coral. The cruise director was great and made sure the guests had fun, and all of the crew were awesome, constantly keeping the boat organized and clean with warm, friendly service. The food stood out as very good and definitely above the typical liveaboard fare - all of the guests agreed. It was a 5-star experience, from helping take care of your equipment, towel service, snacks after dives, friendly crew, great food, and great dive masters. Our suite room was particularly nice with a sitting area and private balcony, but all of the rooms seemed comfortable and clean. I would definitely recommend La Galigo to anyone looking for a great liveaboard in Indonesia.

We had a great dive trip on La Galigo. The staff is outstanding, the boat well layed out, the food very tasty, and the dive guides excellent. We were spoiled by specialty teas or juices after dives and the dive deck crew taking care of our gear. The diving was very good with an unbelievable variety of coral and fish.

I just returned from a trip of a lifetime aboard La Galigo and can't sing enough praises about this operation. From the pre-sail communication from the head office to the follow up post-trip, the customer service has been second to none! I completed the Raja Central & North trip and was astonished by how well organised everything was. Not only did Fareez, the Cruise Director, ensure the entire trip ran seamlessly and all 14 guests were comfortable and well tended to during the week, he was always up for a friendly chat and laugh. The boat itself is a beautiful sailing ship with very comfortable cabins and en-suite bathrooms. Having been on other liveaboards in the past, being able to have a hot shower with great water pressure every night felt like such a luxury! There are also plenty of space on the deck to hang out or nap between dives. Needless to say, the diving was simply EXCEPTIONAL but dive guides were world class! The briefings before every dive were so detailed and we dived in small groups, so the guides always had eyes on all the divers PLUS whatever wonderful creatures and critters they were showing us throughout the dives. Special mention to my wonderful guide, Aghi, who had a knack for finding everything from macro to sharks and mantas. I felt so lucky to have dived with Aghi. All the crew and staff worked tirelessly cleaning our cabins daily, serving up the most delicious meals (I can write War & Peace on the food alone!), cleaning and preparing our dive equipment, helping us pre & post-dives and generally going above and beyond, all with the biggest smiles on their faces! As a solo traveller, I was made to feel so welcome by the crew, including Nick, the co-owner who was a wealth of knowledge and was always on hand for additional support if needed. I also loved all the land based activities and felt like it was a perfectly curated route to see the best of central and north Raja Ampat. I can't recommend La Galigo and its team highly enough, and am already planning to return in the future for round 2!

Front begin to end - in and out of the water the experience was perfect! The crew immediately settled us down with a thorough safety briefing of the boat and under water protocols. La Galigo firmly support the Green Finns initiative to protect dive sites and sustainability. All the pieces you’d expect from a liveaboard are inclusive - we even had the euros available for the football. It was great to see the owners onboard also enjoying the trip. We totally zoned out and had a wonderful time with the team and the underwater world.

Where to begin - an incredible time on the Ultimate Komodo itinerary. The entire crew from top to bottom are outstanding. The dive crew make sure your gear is always set up in the speedboat, ready to go - all you need to do is put your wetsuit and mask on! The chef and his team make sure that you will not go hungry with four meals a day plus snacks and drinks after every dive! The diving itself is incredible - everything from beautiful mantas at Manta Alley to macro on the night dives. Aghi, Ambat and Fendy have an incredible ability to spot the smallest of crabs, worked to tailor doves to everyone’s preferences and adapted dives based on the conditions as the dives went on. Jacob the cruise director made sure we always knew the plan and adapted to make sure every guest had a great experience! Hopefully I will get to come back and experience La Galligo in Raja Ampat!

La Galigo liveaboard is a first class environment for a chilled and wonderful holiday which comes hand in hand with an amazing diving experience. The La Galigo journey starts by seeing the beautiful vessel as you approach it by boat. Once onboard the classy vessel you cant but help to fall in love with this liveaboard which is perfect for up to 14 guests. What takes this liveaboard to the next level is the crew and in particular Jacob the cruise director and the hugely knowledgable dive guides Fendy, Aghi and Ambat. The crew feel like they are family and soon make you feel the same. Dive equipment is exemplary and once kitted out the equipment is yours for the entire cruise which provides reassuring trust. You can of course bring your own gear but why bother humping it around the globe. They catered for my air consumption so have 15ltr tanks. Food onboard is amazing and the drinks post diving are always different, are always excellent and help the flow of post dive chat when the dive teams get back onboard. The accommodation is quaint and perfect. Now for the diving - Wow. The reefs are out of this world as is the small stuff and also big stiff. Between dives it couldn't be more relaxing. I want to come back already.

This was a crazy experience. Most important, the food: outstanding. Dive masters: excellent! Boat: missing a sauna, everything else you could wish for is on board though. Apparently no manta is 70% discount on next trip. Sadly we saw many manta. Pro tip: oure pillow princes would've appreciated a pillow chocolate. Excellent experience would do again.

Scenic dives, scrumptious food, dramatic 360 scenery and endearing crew: a recipe for the perfect holidays. Jacob and the crew warmly welcame us aboard beautiful La Galigo, a cosy ship with a vintage touch but all modern amenities you need. The rooms are clean, comfy with great beds for a snooze or refreshing night’s sleep. The chef prepares incredibly varied menus. The dive guides are great experts who know the sites like the back of their hands. We were all very well taken care of and we’ll come back to Raja Ampat!

I have done many liveaboards but La Galigo is in a class of its own. This is due to the excellent crew that consists of 17 people more crew members than guests (max 14). Many liveaboards have 2 dive guides, here 3. This allows every guest to dive at their own level. Top! I deliberately do not mention any names because everyone has delivered a top performance.

Had a wonderful time during the Live Aboard, the crew was so nice and helpful! Food was delicious with a lot of variety between each day. The dives were incredible and the dive guides helped us find really cool marine life. Highly recommend it! I want to come back, thank you for making this trip so memorable!

I was recently part of a group of 14 friends who stayed on La Galigo in Raja Ampat, Indonesia, for the last voyage of the season. In short, the trip was spectacular! Everything about the trip was amazing...the staff were very friendly and hard working, the food was delicious, the accommodations were very comfortable (each unit had an ensuite bathroom), and the diving...well...if you dive and want to treat yourself to one of the best dive spots on the planet, La Galigo is the way to go. We have traveled extensively and the the service on this trip was extraordinary. The dive-gear was always ready to go and the guides were very knowledgable and enthusiastic. At the end of the trip we felt we had made some new friends and would not hesitate to return, when/if the opportunity arises. I did an 8 day Raja Ampat North cruise. I absolutely loved. The boat was great, clean, comfortable with heaps of character. The only thing better than the location & sites were the crew and the food! Staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The food was so tasty and there was so much of it. Fantastic shore excursions - the views blew me away. The diving was mind blowing. Manta Rays, reef sharks, turtles bigger than me. There was so much bright, healthy, colourful coral to see. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic trip aboard la Galigo. Boat, staff and food were all top shelf, and of course the diving something out of this world. Highly recommend this boat and the team if diving in Raja Ampat.

We did Jurassic Komodo tour and for sure I can say we had the best times of our life onboard La Galigo! Great food, great crew and amazing dive experiences. The boat is super clean and confortable. Feerez was always around taking care and sharing laughs with everyone. Raja always kind and careful during every meal. Dive guides were so professionals giving us confidence to enjoy all dives, even when we had strong courrents. Thanks for everyone! Excited to be back as soon as possible.

My second trip with La Galigo; Komodo last year and this time on the Ultimate Raja Ampat itinerary. The crew were fantastic again; the food was ample (too much!) and varied and tasty: assistance pre- and post-dive was great. As the first trip of the season we didn’t have the best weather or visibility, but they changed the route (north first instead of south) to improve the conditions, and we still saw plenty. The range and numbers of fish and coral remain overwhelming. Untouched reefs and huge schools. Sharks (wobbegong, walking, grey, white/black tip etc) and plenty of mantas. Stunning scenery and a lovely boat with top-notch organisation.

We enjoyed everything: rooms (enough space in room and bathroom), food (amazing what the chef can prepare in a small kitchen and spending all day long under heat), diving and crew (forever grateful to the guys that saved my drone, without any request they took the small boat and went for it). La Galigo has a nice rustic aspect, I would recommend only a speaker system in the rooms and upper deck, so the cruise director can announce different events and you don't need to keep an eye on the watch or set an alarm.

Excellent boat. Helpful, friendly and super efficient crew. Great Food. Small groups … 4 people per dive guide. Birthday cake a real surprise and delicious, plus crew singing. A treat. Spotless everything including dive gear washed at the end of every dive and at the end of your trip. No smelly dive areas which is unique especially at the end of a trip. Super comfortable mattresses in comfy cabins. Just fabulous.

Raja Ampat 8D7N North & Central - great trip We had an excellent liveaboard trip onboard La Galigo. During the trip 23 dives were offered as well as two island hikes. The dives were amazing and we did both famous Raja Ampat classic dives as well as lesser known, yet stunning, crew favorites. We were lucky that the weather permitted us to visit also Wayag up north, there is not much diving there but amazing hike with views over the lagoon. Basically all the diving is amazing and great in Raja Ampat so that is a given. We liked La Galigo a lot and my dive master Fendy was excellent 7-year veteran on the sites. There was 4 divers to 1 dive master which was great. We did not experience strong currents really and if there was some, dive masters made the dive plan so that it suited our skills. Everything was professional and safe. Also other crew members were very friendly and did their best to let us enjoy this unique trip. Food was really good and there was enough of it always! The boat as such is rather new (2012) and it has been maintained. The common areas are spacious and you have both sundeck and a deck in the shades. The cabins have comfortable beds and nice size ensuite. La Galigo is not a luxury vessel but everything there works, the crew is great meaning that customers can simply focus on diving and enjoying the fabulous archipelago! Definately can recommend this boat.

We did the South Raja Ampat tour and had an incredible time diving the beautiful sites and spending time on the liveaboard. The service is outstanding, the food is delicious and above all the crew is excellent and the differentiating factor - always helpful and joyful. We will always cherish this trip and cannot recommend La Galigo and the crew enough.

Best dives, beautiful nature, great food and the best crew. The boat however needs some repairs. I had a big problem with water intrusion inside my cabin the day we had some rain. I also had some issues with toilet leaks and bad smell inside the cabin. The cruise director and staff were super nice considering the resources available. The owners are ones to have these type of problems addressed.

The trip was phenomenal, Raja Ampat is definitely an experience of a lifetime and much enjoyed my time onboard. The Crew is amazing and go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. They are as charismatic as the boat and will make you feel like part of a family. The chef onboard is to be complimented on the selection and quality of every meal and the other crew for making snackage and beverages available after every dive, love a hot chocolate after a nite dive.Having a live in band is also a great accompaniment to perfect surrounds. Would recommend the accommodation onboard as was luxurious with a massive king bed, aircon, lounge and fridge, the natural wood paneling really sets the mood for a sail adventure. We would have no qualms about recommending La Galigo as your charter of choice when looking at diving in Indonesia. Thanks Nick and the La galigo Crew for an amazing Trip.

Nice boat, good food , great diving .

This was our fourth liveaboard and we had an absolutely super time with Tom and the crew, all of whom were pulling their legs out to make sure we had a fun, comfortable and safe trip. Fendy, Aghe and Steve have a sixth sense for finding macro critters and Raja, Decky and the kitchen crew will keep you well fed. The rooms are charming and the boat has a good layout that lends itself well to both socializing or finding a quiet corner to read a book in. Looking forward to doing Raja Ampat with them in the hopefully not too distant future.

My experience at La Galigo Liveaboard was fantastic. Could have not asked for better experience and service while being out in the middle of the ocean Things that made this trip special: - Location: Diving in Komodo is an incredible experience and if you are a dive enthusiast, I highly recommend visiting this area - Boat: The boat was incredibly well kept when we got there and along the 8 days the staff maintained the boat very well throughout the journey (cleaning your room, common area, after-dive mess) - Staff: The service provided by the staff was attentive but giving you your space at all times. The level of service was outstanding to the degree that it felt luxurious. Tom the owner who was with us during the trip was incredibly entertaining and made the trip even better - Guests: Customers who decided to come on this boat were fantastic. The experiences we had was only made greater by sharing it with like minded individuals who came from all over the world to see Komodo's beautiful underwater world La Galigo and the entire team - I thank you Santeri

The diving was very good but the experience made exceptional by the crews interaction with us passengers. The boat was full of laughter and good vibes. Don't worry about the cuisine as the food put out by "Chef" (Gibson)and his team was a pure Indonesian style of food of the best standard. The dive masters (Farhy-Neco and Dodi) made everyone at ease with a very professional attitude to diving. All in all an excellent live aboard experience....one I could do again and again and again.

Review based on an Ultimate Komodo trip in June 2017. Great diving. The unpredictable weather resulted in unpredictable currents and visibility, but the crew was flexible and found great alternate dive sites. In addition, dive guide Fendy is incredible at finding macro creatures (Spanish dancer, flamboyant cuttlefish, etc.), and we also saw mantas on a couple of dives, and plenty of sharks. I always felt safe underwater, and Tom, the owner, gave me great tips to help with buoyancy and air consumption. I rented all of the gear except for my mask. The equipment was in great shape. The crew was generally amazing, and I cannot say enough good things about them all. Super, super nice and helpful, and really fun. The food was plentiful and good, and there was always both meat and fish options at lunch and dinner. The facilities are comfortable and pleasant, and while we did have a few leaks due to unexpected rain, Tom and the crew worked quickly to resolve the issue. Overall, I would recommend La Galigo whole-heartedly.

We had a supercool 5 days' trip on La Galigo. The dives were amazing! Our guide Fendy led us safely through the famous Komodo currents to all the best spots. He found us all the creatures that were on our wish list, and more..... whole crew was always very helpful getting us in/out of the water. Aya, the other dive guide, gave that sweet feminine hospitable touch to the crew. Good food served with smiles and good humour. Our cabin was comfy and practical with a very good bed, clean after our morning dives. The last night was incredible....full moon bbq and music entertainment by the crew singing Indonesian songs near a warming camp fire. If that doesn't charm you then what ever will?! Tom our cruise director was not only helpful with everything, his good humour and fun presence always made us laugh. We all totally got his dream, because we were in it for a few days. Living the good life, fun diving in beautiful spots on a fantastic boat, good laughs, relaxed and yessss stuffed with good food. Cheers guys, we will never forget you💗💗💗

This was my first time on a liveaboard and it far exceeded my expectations. The boat itself was comfortable and immaculately clean, the meals were fantastic (and catered to dietary restrictions), the diving was breathtaking and the staff was equally phenomenal. I wasn't sure about the safety or hospitality of living on a boat like this, but I needn't have worried. There were 3 divemasters on the boat so we dove with groups of just a few people. Before each dive we had a dive meeting where we learned about the dive, our course & what to expect. It took away all stress and made me feel super confident in every trip. Engineers took care of all our equipment and it was cleaned and kept in top shape. The boat was stocked with first aid items and every coral scrape or achy ear was treated with care. They even kept extra oxygen and a defibrillator on the boat. When things went wrong (like a leaky roof over our bed), the staff worked hard to right the situation. Beyond being first class professionals, the crew was plain fun. They even threw us a party on the last night, performed and joined us for singing and dancing on the roof deck. And when I got tired of diving, a staff member would graciously take me to an island to read or snorkel with me. I would 100% do this trip all over again.

La Galigo was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. Their crew and customer service was extraordinary. So much that my wife are now debating if we want to go somewhere new or repeat a trip with La Galigo in the next couple years. Fareez, Raja, and all the other crew members truly go above and beyond.

Our week on La Galigo was awesome. The boat is very well set up, and the team made diving a breeze. Everything organised and loaded prior to each dive, all we had to do was carry our mask. Dodi, our dive leader was awesome, and able to avoid the currents even while other teams had strong currents, we had virtually none on the same reef, at the same time. I will definitely pack a magnifying glass for all the small creatures next time. The dive tenders had long ladders for easy reboarding. After a dive, fresh water shower,and Raja was waiting with your towel and a hot drink. The food was amazing- thank you Gibo. Varied, Indonesian and western, and always lots of choice. Beautiful fresh fruit. Loved the battered bananas. Aly worked so hard to ensure everyone was happy, and always with an amazing smile. She is an amazing asset to La Galigo. Our topside room was comfortable, cleaned everyday, and fresh linen. A huge THANK YOU to La Galigo crew- you are awesome, and we will be back

Fantastic boat and crew that the owner Tom is rightly proud of. The local crew are a highlight if like me you travel to experience different cultures and people. The crew do their absolute best for you including the party and BBQ on the last night when there were Indonesian tunes and dancing by all crew and guests. The cultural exchange was 2 way and Raja can now shotgun a Bintang. The diving was fantastic with big currents and big fish as well as the macro. Food was tasty and plentiful with fresh fish, fruit and salads very welcome. Great value as well given the accom and level of service. Take an interest in the area and the crew, dont sit on the sidelines and you will enjoy it more. A boat for people who are travellers rather than tourists.

I had the pleasure to be onboard for the Ultimate Komodo trip. Highly recommend the operation. Amazing crew. Boat is comfortable, food is plenty. Diving is good. What else do you need.

Based on liveaboard experiences 15-22nd June 2017 Komodo: 1. The cabin crew was made up of 1 white person and 10+ local staff. 2. This particular white Tom woke up late and dived randomly as he wished. He didn't realise there was no need of a white face on boat if he was not a dive guide. 3. 2 out of 3 local dive guides were very professional and actively looked for interesting stuff under water. 4. After visiting all the dive sites, I would suggest take around 4 days rather than a week diving in Komodo. 5. Food on the ship was between acceptable to quite good. As for facilities, the toilet in my cabin broke twice and the ceiling was leaking water in an unexpected rainfall. 6. The equipment for rental was expensive but not well-maintained especially for the uncomfortable shoes and fins even at the right size. 7. There were no checks of Oxygen% if you chose Nitrox before diving. 8. Guests were discouraged to take the long walk on Rinca Insland in a threatening tone. 9. It is my 3rd liveaboard experience (previously once in Similan and once in GBR, both fantastic) and I believe there are simply better options of similar price when it comes to diving liveaboard. Search more and skip La Galigo (though many local crew on board were really lovable) 10. Part of the reason why I spare time leaving comments here (since they don't have tripadviser account) was also because of Tom's not-well-covered prejudice against Chinese citizens. Nowadays English is so widely-spoken, please consider twice when you talk trash in English. In addition, despite all guests left their Facebook info, the exactly three Chinese divers were not tagged in La Galigo's Facebook homepage video of this Komodo trip. I assume intelligent individuals will at least make racist conducts less obvious.

This was my first live aboard experience though I am a well seasoned traveler... Incredible trip!!! A fantastic diving experience and the most helpful,friendly crew!! They went over and beyond anything one could possibly ask for. Fendi, was by far, the best dive guide and took special interest in every dive... Having learnt that he has had more than 5000 dives... I was inspired by his enthusiasm & his want to share with others the beauty of the macro world. We dived sites like Toko-Toko and the Three Sisters... Absolutely pristine!! Almost seemed like a private dive site! My deep dive spec went off like a dream.. All safety measures under control and well adhered to. Needless to say.. Tom was the perfect host. It is apparent that he oversaw every aspect of the day! His penchant for small details and caring for the guests was transferred to his able team, carrying forward 'the feel good factor.' Every meal was a real spread with something for everyone! Breakfast included bacon,sausages,eggs to order and an Indonesian dish!... For lunch there was chicken, fish, vegetables and a few other options... Dinner- which started with soup... included a salad,sautéed veges and two different types of meats. The deserts were to die for! A must mention are the banana fritters that await you on the dive deck! Chef Evan went beyond all our expectations at the beach barbecue where we were received with little candles dug into the sand... with the crew singing 'welcome to my paradise'... making the experience ethereal! (Hopefully not spoiling it for anyone who wishes to be part of a La Galigo trip) The crew made a large effort to make everyone feel comfortable. Every sunset came with some lovely singing accompanied by a guitar & drums. We did have some leakages after the rain, but Tom and his crew were quick to sort every problem out. At this juncture I must also point out that I found a little bit of a musty smell emitting from my pillow, which I brought to Tom's notice before I left for the first dive... What amazed and pleased me was that, on my return I found my pillows... back in my room... dry and sun fresh! 😁 It's these little things that floored me and I would definitely recommend La Galigo to anyone who's up for a good time... with fantastic diving, views,people and service. 10/10! I joined the jurassic Komodo national park 6D/5N Trip in august 2023 and it was such a great time! The crew, the boat itself and the dive sites are amazing! Cant stop dreaming about it. I am looking forward to come back for the trip in raja ampat asap. Every single day was unique and i cant thank everybody enough for their effort. Great job guys🤙🏻🤙🏻👏

Gorgeous looking boat, fabolous host, great friendly and efficient service and staff, delicious food, beautiful dive sites and sceneries... simply amazing liveaboard experience. Given the challenging and sometimes tricky current pattern at many dive sites in Komodo, should seriously consider having two dive guides per group of 4, especially if some of the divers are less experienced in challenging drift diving. Local guide is imperative for such places as Komodo as they can navigate better due their extensive experience and knowledge of the sites. Have to thank Captain Nicko for being my extra guide in some dives, literally saving me from out of air situation 15m down in a very strong current. Safety should be the utmost importance of any dives, and clear protocol on how a separated group member situation need to be handled appropriately. My other personal experience of being shot up to the surface from 15m down and left by myself while my guide decided to continue diving with rest of the group shouldn’t have happened. Luckily I surfaced In an area with no roping current and also close to the speed board, otherwise...??? I take these incidents as a learning experience but definitely do not want others to have similar experience. Other than that, it was a very nice liveaboard experiment and will have no doubt of coming back!

I've been on a fair share of liveaboards- this one really stands out. Great crew, great Indonesian food, loads of special effort by the boat to make the experience 5 star- post dive snacks, personal towel service, small dive groups, comfortable, clean rooms.

Hands down the best vacation you’ll ever book. Worth every penny. Tom and his crew went out of their way to make this the trip of a lifetime. I spent a lot of time researching Komodo liveaboards before booking. You don’t have to. Just book it. These guys are exceptional.

Everything regarding diving was professional and the crew was attentive. But at food and accommodation is space for improvement. My bed got wet during rain, due to a leakage from the ceiling. The food was ok but could be more various.

We were a group of 14 and had Brilliant week on La Galigo! The diving was brilliant despite the terrible weather, the crew and dive guides were excellent.

Super Crew. Amazing Diving. Good food, BUT no one bothered that 25% of the guests did not eat fish. We had to go to bed hungry a couple of times. And the engine was quite load. The sails were never up and we had to kill the cockroaches.

These guys know what they're doing. Clean, comfortable, not over the top. They know where to dive and how to make sure you have a good time when not diving too. Tom is also an excellent problem solver - which comes in very handy in these uncertain times with changing regulatory requirements being very much the norm.

The bar / dining area air condition is not working properly. If it happened during the trip (after few days), we can understand. But it occurred when we just boarded the boat. We suffered for 9 days of the trip. Unacceptable!!

Great end to end service, best Indonesian food on board, very comfortable cabins and great dive masters who will be sea wizards underwater and find all the things you wanted to see!

To be completely honest, the 12 days I spent on the boat were flawless... the diving was exquisite, the boat crew were exceptional, food so fresh and delicious and very plentiful, equipment was up to date and in great condition, the cabins were comfortable, such an organised efficient and highly recommended trip, and did I mention the diving was exceptional....would do it again in a heartbeat, la Galigo was worth every cent I paid... just beware the nostalgia and withdrawals hit hard when you return to reality!!!!!

Our liveaboard tour (Raja Ampat North, 7 days) with La Galigo was absolutely fantastic! The crew is incredibly friendly. Dive guides, service team, and everyone else who pitches in are incredibly helpful, friendly, and competent. Surya, who manages the tours, makes sure everything runs smoothly. We dived with Ambat and Fendi and can highly recommend them as guides. Our cabin (suite) was beautiful and very clean. The food was delicious for us (vegetarians), and there was always more than enough and a wide variety of choices. Highly recommended!

Yudha and Raja in the restaurant were incredibly attentive; I'm speechless. The crew was the best, like family during our stay. Everyone was a 10 out of 10! The food was amazing. The cabin and the ship in general were very comfortable. We will definitely be back. Please don't hesitate when choosing a ship; the Galigo is undoubtedly unbeatable!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! The Galigo is a magnificent boat, reminiscent of those from another era, and in perfect condition. Everything is varnished wood; it's stunning. You can have up to 14 guests on board; there were 10 of us on our cruise. The cabins are tidied by the staff every morning during the first dive. They offer you a hot or cold drink as soon as you get out of the water. The food is varied, high-quality, and very tasty. It's the best place we ate in Indonesia, thanks to Chef Dede <3 In the common areas, Raja and Eman are incredibly attentive and thoughtful. They take care of everything to ensure a perfect stay. My husband and I wanted for nothing. It was the best experience of our trip!

I concluded my first review with a "must repeat" statement. Well, I did, and I'm very happy about it. I cruised in the Raja Anpat archipelago on February 26th. I stand by my previous opinion. I'm happy to have embarked on the La Galigo again. This time, too, we had 24 dives, always well-prepared with thorough briefings. I had a great feeling of safety thanks to the reliability and professionalism of Fendy and the other guides. We had the opportunity to appreciate the great biodiversity of marine life in this archipelago. Colorful corals, so rare elsewhere. Large pelagics and tiny creatures offer great photography opportunities. Not to mention the walk to the lookout to enjoy the view that appears on every postcard. The entire crew was top-notch, friendly, and efficient.

Galigo Liveaboard was a great experience. The boat is so cozy that it makes you feel "at home" from the moment you step on board. The food is so delicious that my husband and I told the chef we were taking it home. Everyone is so friendly, Raja and Emam took such great care of us, and we already consider them our friends. The boat is clean, they clean it every day, and for those who are worried about not getting enough food, please don't bring anything like snacks, because you have everything here. Raja Ampat wouldn't be as beautiful without these people.

A precious six-day vacation was made perfect for a liveaboard diving trip to Komodo. The professional instructors provided detailed explanations of the dive sites before each dive, and the spectacular underwater world never disappointed. We did the grand Raja Ampat Ultimate Tour, eleven days of diving. A fantastic experience, a magnificent underwater world, and a truly great boat and crew! We felt very comfortable; everyone was very friendly and attentive, always trying to fulfill our wishes. The diving was highly professional and always very safe, and at the same time, it was five-star quality with every comfort. The dive guides showed us some amazing things. We absolutely recommend this tour!

A fantastic 9-day trip in Central/South Raja, a truly wonderful experience in every way: magnificent dive sites, highly competent and attentive dive guides, top-quality equipment, an eco-diving approach that's evident in the dives and the way they interact with the sea, a super attentive, kind, and fun crew that creates a friendly, family atmosphere, a spacious and beautiful boat, a very comfortable suite with a good bed and balcony, delicious and varied food in more than enough quantity (a different post-dive drink each time), three short excursions to islands and lagoons to keep things interesting, and a few days with four dives per day, including one night dive, but not too many night dives (four in total). In short, in my opinion: a reliable liveaboard, a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, a comfortable boat, a paradise location, and a bonus: Surya takes incredible photos. A huge thank you to the whole team!

The entire 9-day trip was a wonderful experience that I wouldn't want to miss. I only booked the trip a week in advance, and everything went perfectly. Raja Ampat is worth a visit for any passionate diver. The entire crew of the La Galigo made the trip even better. They took excellent care of us and catered completely to our wishes and needs. The food was absolutely outstanding. They also took into account any food intolerances/allergies and left nothing to be desired. ❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰

The liveaboard trip on the La Galigo was amazing!! The boat is fantastic. The beds and beanbag chairs are especially comfortable, perfect for relaxing between dives. The crew is incredibly friendly. Whether it was the divemaster, service staff, captain, or engine room crew, everyone was incredibly professional and always made you feel welcome, supporting and helping you with anything you needed. The dive equipment is in excellent condition, allowing you to focus on the diving and enjoy it even more. The dives were very well planned and adjusted to the conditions as needed. The diving here is incredible; even in the off-season, it's worth coming. The advantage is that you practically have the fish all to yourself. I highly recommend it and would definitely come back again.

Galigo is a very reputable and reliable company. We spent seven days liveaboard and have absolutely no complaints, only gratitude and congratulations for their excellent work. The entire team is wonderful: the cruise director (Jacob), the captain, the divemasters (ours was the incredible Fendy), the kitchen staff, the cleaning staff, the maintenance staff... everyone, absolutely everyone, deserves applause for their courtesy, professionalism, commitment, responsibility, and friendliness. I had a wonderful liveaboard diving safari over Christmas/New Year's 2023/24. The chosen dive sites were fantastic and were presented before each dive. The entire crew took excellent care of the group and were always helpful. The food was delicious and fresh. I also appreciated the size of the group (14 divers). We usually planned four dives, except during longer boat trips. In addition, there were two shore excursions. I would definitely do this tour again.

We did an 8-day Raja Ampat cruise with the Galigo, and the service on board was superb. The crew was always very attentive and helpful, making our stay as comfortable as possible, and everything was very well managed. It's a great ship for a liveaboard trip. The route was adapted to avoid bad weather and a jellyfish bloom in the Misool area, resulting in a route that included the best highlights of the region. In my opinion, the Galigo offers everything you would expect from a liveaboard.
