A liveaboard experience is only as good as the people who deliver it. On La Galigo, our crew are not background support, they are the foundation of everything we do.
La Galigo was built in 2012. This 33m x 8m vessel is powered by a Mitsubishi 8M22 450hp V8 engine. It is equipped to an above-industry-standard level for safety and onboard gear, including 12 hours of emergency breathing oxygen, primary and secondary care kits, and a crew fully trained in first aid. The vessel also carries two 6m tenders, each fitted with twin 40hp engines. Onboard amenities include a large restaurant/bar, a dedicated dive deck with a camera station, a library of books, entertainment, and a sundeck with both open and shaded areas. WiFi access is available via Starlink.
Our core value is simple: deliver extraordinary diving in Raja Ampat and Komodo with the safety, comfort, care, and intention of a world-class liveaboard.
Adventure thrives on trust. We uphold the highest safety standards in diving operations, vessel management, and guest care, ensuring every journey is as secure as it is extraordinary.
We protect what we explore. Every voyage is guided by deep respect for the sea, marine life, and fragile ecosystems. From responsible diving practices to minimizing environmental impact, conservation is not an option, it’s our responsibility.
Rooted in the heritage of Indonesia’s seafaring legacy, La Galigo celebrates local culture, craftsmanship, and hospitality, delivering experiences that feel genuine, warm, and deeply connected to place.
We believe diving is more than a sport, it’s a life-changing encounter with nature. Each expedition is designed to inspire awe, deepen understanding, and create memories that stay long after the journey ends.
From crew to guests, we foster a culture of belonging. Shared meals, shared dives, shared stories: every voyage builds meaningful human connections above and below the surface.

La Galigo is designed to feel personal, comfortable, and welcoming. With a limited number of guests onboard, the experience feels more intimate than larger vessels.
Our focus is not only on diving more, but also on experiencing more. That means thoughtful service, good food, experienced dive guides, relaxed onboard life, and routes that include both world-class dive sites and memorable land or cultural experiences where possible.
La Galigo operates in Indonesia, with itineraries covering destinations such as Raja Ampat, Komodo National Park, Sumbawa, and selected seasonal routes.
Each destination offers a different experience. Raja Ampat is known for extraordinary marine biodiversity and coral reefs, while Komodo is famous for thrilling currents, manta encounters, dramatic landscapes, and the chance to see Komodo dragons on selected itineraries.
Yes. Safety is an important part of the La Galigo experience, both during diving and onboard.
Guests receive dive briefings before entering the water, and dives are guided by the experienced dive team. The boat is also equipped with safety equipment suitable for remote liveaboard diving operations, including emergency oxygen and first aid support.
La Galigo is mainly designed for scuba divers, but non-diving guests may still enjoy the liveaboard experience depending on the itinerary.
Some routes may include snorkelling opportunities, viewpoints, beaches, wildlife encounters, or cultural stops. However, because most itineraries are dive-focused, non-divers should check with us before booking to make sure the trip matches their expectations.
La Galigo takes its name from one of the world’s longest epic works, originating from the Bugis people of Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The name reflects the vessel’s connection to Indonesian seafaring heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and the spirit of exploration across the archipelago.
